Allison Zaczynski loves crafting a life that involves all of her passions. She has loved writing since she was in elementary school, soaking up all of the poetry she could read and then coming up with her own. While attending Asnuntuck Community College, Allison studied poetry under Edwina Trentham. She took every poetry class Edwina had to offer.

Allison graduated from Bay Path University summa cum laude with a B.A. in Communications, Professional Writing concentration. While attending Bay Path, she was proud to be a part of the student newsroom, working on the student-run magazine Network News. She was associate editor for two semesters and then served as editor during her final semester. Allison is grateful to Janine Fondon for the opportunities she provided at Bay Path University, as well as her guidance and mentorship.

Allison graduated from Lesley University with an MFA in Creative Writing in January 2025. She has completed her first full-length poetry manuscript and is currently working on a biography.

Allison has been published in various journals including The Hooghly Review, Epistemic Lit, SWWIM, and Freshwater Poetry Journal. She earned third place in 2011, judged by Sue Ellen Thompson and an honorable mention in 2012 judged by former Connecticut Poet Laureate Dick Allen in the Asnuntuck Community College Student Poetry Contest. She also received the Asnuntuck Excellence in Poetry award in 2011. She is also a member of Poets for the Planet, a poetry group that writes poetry with a focus on advocacy for nature.

Allison was fortunate to spend a whole month in 2018 in Hawaii, taking an immersive yoga teacher training. Since then, she has been passionate about teaching yoga and proving that yoga is for every body.
